PLEIN AIR AT THE LOST COAST

In October I attended "Plein Air At The Lost Coast", a 5 day plein air painting event held in a small Northern California coastal town, Shelter Cove.  It was a fun , very well organized event.  There were 40 artists from throughout California, converging on this little community, all focused on painting the beautiful coastline and it's environs.  The weather couldn't have been more perfect.  Sun and very little wind every day.  It was great seeing other artist's interpretations of the same scenes, and many new artist friends were made.  These are some of the paintings I did while I was there.

On the last day a "Quick Draw" event was held at the Julia Morgan house overlooking the Eel River next to the Historic Benbow Inn.  A 'Quick Draw', is an event where artists have 2 hours to complete a painting, then turn it in for judging.  This was my 'Quick Draw' painting.  It won First Place in the event.
